VINBESKRIVELSE:
Mascarello Giuseppe e Figlio er en af Barolos eller for den sags skyld hele Italiens mest kultede producenter. Huset blev grundlagt helt tilbage i 1881 af Giuseppe Mascarello og har siden gået i arv fra generation til generation. Gennem de seneste årtier har den legendariske Mauro Mascarello bragt huset op i den absolutte top.
I dag arbejder han tæt sammen med sønnen Giuseppe og sammen (Mauro mest i markerne og Guiseppe mest i kælderen) laver de i dag nogle af Italiens bedste vine. Fx blev deres Barolo Monprivato 2010 i september 2015 kåret til Italiens bedste vin af den ansete avis Corriere della Sera.

This is a naturally very complex and complete wine, thanks to the extraordinary conditions of this epic growing season. The results are relatable and impactful, as fruit from 2016 shows power, grace and lots of clearly recognized varietal purity. This edition of Monprivato is fine and sensual with soft berry tones that cede to blue flower, candied orange peel, fresh mint and earthy rust. The wine's tannins and structure build momentum and staying power. This wine is large in scope and impressive"
